Congratulations to all the Year 7, 8 & 9 students for their behaviour and participation at the recent school Athletics sports held at Aberfeldie track. A couple of firsts this year with our Year 9’s participating as well as all students competing in houses rather than home groups. It certainly was a hectic day as we accommodated these changes as well as dealing with a few showers throughout the day.
Special congratulations to the following students who were the top athletes for 2016:
Year 7: Girls 1st Jasmine Russell = 2nd August Addamo-Williams & Carrell Barwick; Boys 1st Tom Glover, 2nd Jim Findlay
Year 8: Girls 1st Claudia Inkster, =2nd Molly Roberts & Emma Kiely, Boys 1st Mame Salah, 2nd Darcy Morton
Year 9: Girls 1st Larissa Goates, =2nd Maddison Wallace & Annika Murray, Boys 1st Jackson Glover, = 2nd Harry Arthur & Kieran McMahon
The overall final results were as follows:
1st Red 738 pts, 2nd Yellow 601, 3rd Green 581 & 4th Blue 411
Also, thanks to all staff & students who assisted on the day
All the winners will now go onto represent the school at the Interschool competition in August.
Rowing is not an official State School Sport Victoria event. However, two of our Year 10 Boys competed as Footscray City College against a number of private schools at the State Rowing Finals held late last term. Both Patrick Doherty and Alex Wilson did very well with Patrick winning his Singles division final. Well done boys!
There have also been recent inter-school competition results. Both our Year 8 Girls & Boys Cricket teams were successful early this term and will now go onto Western Regional finals early in Term 4. This week our Intermediate Boys Tennis (3rd overall) & Senior Boys Volleyball (WMR Runners-Up) travelled down to Geelong to compete in Regional finals after winning their District play-offs earlier this year. They both did our school proud with their results and their sporting behaviour.
