The vision of FCC Library is to foster a sense of curiosity about the world and to encourage enquiring minds to discover information, both under guidance and on their own. We are also dedicated to nurturing an ongoing love of reading in our community. We accomplish this by providing our patrons with a variety of digital and print resources along with professional support to help meet their learning and recreational needs.

Library services include:
Library Service
Fiction An extensive collection of novels, quick reads, picture books and graphic novels suitable for a range of reading levels and interests. The loan period is one fortnight but books can be re-borrowed if necessary.
Non-fiction and Reference A comprehensive range of non-fiction books on all subjects is available for fortnightly loan. Our reference books are for use in the library and consist of various encyclopaedias, maps, dictionaries and thesauri covering all subjects.
Computers The library has class sets of PC and Mac laptops available and a dedicated computer classroom. Students are also welcome to access computers outside of class time.
Audio Visual The library supplies the school with a large variety of multimedia technology and professional support. We stock digital video and still cameras, microphones, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, iPod touches, hard drives and more…
Film and Video Archive We have over 2,800 television programs, movies, documentaries and animations in video and DVD format for class use to support the curriculum.
Newspapers The library has an educational subscription to the Digital Age for all students from years 9 to 12. This gives them a searchable archive of the last 6 months. We also provide print copies of the Herald Sun and The Australian on a daily basis and we receive The Weekly Times.
Magazines A wide collection of magazines are available for overnight loan or to read in the library. Titles include New Internationalist, Cosmos, Frankie, Juxtapoz, Aperture, New Scientist, Current Environmental and Social Issues, The Big Issue, Triple J Magazine, Artlink and more…
Photocopying, Scanning and Printing Students have access to a double-sided printer in the library. They may also scan and photocopy documents or books on request.
Online Resources and Databases FCC Library subscribes to a range of online resources and databases such as World Book Encyclopedias, Links Plus, and COSMOS Digital. Our website has links to many helpful online resources and patrons can also search our Library Catalogue from any computer in the school.
Board Games Chess, checkers and a variety of other board games are available for use during recess and lunchtimes in the library.
Clubs The Library is host to some great extracurricular activities like Chess Club, Photography Club, CineCity Film Club, and our book club, ‘Caught Read Handed’. Homework Club runs after school four days a week where students can get specialised teacher assistance with their homework.
